War and Nobel Peace
This newspaper investigates the political machinations surrounding the Nobel Peace Prize, using Hennery Kissinger’s 1973 accolade and his involvement in the Vietnam War as a case study. To do this, the newspaper juxtaposes segments of the speech given at Kissinger’s award ceremony to data collected about the Vietnam War. Direct quotes from Kissinger about the importance of world peace sit side by side detailed information visualizations about the human toll of the Vietnam War. This information is presented in austere style reminiscent of Cold War military documents as evidenced by the manila stock and redacted, monospaced typography.
